About this scholarship
Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or Protected Persons who are enrolled in, have applied to, or will apply to an eligible research-oriented master's or direct-entry doctoral program at a Canadian institution may apply. Applicants need a first-class average in each of the last two completed years of study (as defined by the host institution) and, as of December 31 of the competition year, must have completed no more than 12 months of full-time graduate study in the program for which funding is requested.
The Canada Graduate Research Scholarship - Master's (CGRS M) is valued at $27,000 for 12 months and is non-renewable. Submit one application through the Government of Canada Research Portal to up to three institutions by December 1 before 8:00 p.m. ET.
The award is administered jointly by CIHR, NSERC, and SSHRC to support research training.
