About this scholarship

Students enrolled at a California college or university pursuing a real estate-related degree may apply to the California Association of REALTORS Scholarship Foundation. Awards reach up to $2,000 at two-year colleges and up to $4,000 at four-year universities. More than 100 scholarships are available annually.

Applicants need a 3.0+ GPA, at least six units at application time, and completion of real estate coursework. Graduate students are eligible. Submit a 300-word career essay, official e-transcripts, California ID, and two electronic recommendations, including one from a REALTOR. Selected finalists complete an interview.

Scholarships are presented at the C.A.R. Spring Business Meetings.

  • 300-word typed essay explaining career objectives
  • Official e-transcripts from all colleges/universities attended within the last four years
  • California driver's license or state ID
  • Two electronic recommendation letters, including one from a faculty member and one from a REALTOR®
  • Interview with a Scholarship Foundation Trustee
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 6 units (including at least one real estate or related course)
  • Completed at least 12 college-level units within the past 4 years and at least 2 real estate or related courses
  • California Driver's License or state ID (legal CA resident for at least 1 year prior to application)
  • Official e-transcripts from all colleges/universities attended within the last 4 years
  • Two e-letters of recommendation: one from a faculty member on school letterhead and one from a REALTOR®
  • Must be interviewed by a Scholarship Foundation Trustee
  • Currently enrolled at a California college/university at time of application
  • Applicants must be enrolled at a California college or university at the time of application.
  • Selected finalists complete an interview.
