Buur-Thorlakson Family Entrance Award in Counselling Psychology

Open to students entering the Master of Education in Counselling Psychology at UBC Vancouver who demonstrate outstanding support for individuals through challenging circumstances and outstanding examples of professional leadership. Preference is given to students focusing on School Counselling. Entrance awards totalling $5,000 are made available; individual award values vary. There is no student application; the awards are made on the recommendation of the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, and Special Education, in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

The endowment was established by the Buur-Thorlakson family to recognize compassionate students who dedicate their careers to supporting people who face mental health challenges.
