About this scholarship

Illinois resident U.S. citizens who are undergraduate female engineering students at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign may apply through the Illinois Engineering Initiative. One recipient receives a full-tuition scholarship covering in-state tuition and fees not met by other financial aid.

Preference may go to minority students, first-generation U.S. citizens, and applicants with demonstrable financial need. The award may renew at the family's discretion if the recipient remains in good standing.

The Butkus-Sylvester family established this scholarship to support the next generation of women engineers at Illinois.
