About this scholarship
Current undergraduate or graduate students in the United States pursuing healthcare careers, including medicine, nursing, and allied health, may apply. Applicants from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds are encouraged, including Black, Hispanic, Native American, and Asian or Pacific Islander students. U.S. citizenship and a minimum 2.5 GPA are required.
Award amounts vary. Mail a complete application packet with an official sealed transcript, three sealed recommendation letters on official letterhead, and a typed essay of three or more double-spaced pages, received by April 30.

- Choose one of the listed questions and develop your answer in AT LEAST 3 typed, double-spaced pages using clear, original thought supported by personal experiences, observations, and/or research
- Student essay scored maximum 65 points out of 100 in grading matrix
- Must be an undergraduate or graduate student at a U.S. 4-year college/university pursuing a healthcare degree (medicine, nursing, allied health PT/OT)
- Must be a member of: Black/African American, Native American/American Indian, Hispanic/Latin American, or Asian/Pacific Islander; U.S. citizenship required
- Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4-point scale
- Official college/university transcript in a sealed envelope
- Three letters of recommendation (typed, dated, on letterhead, signed and sealed; not from family)
- Application must be mailed (no fax/email); must be received by 4/30/2026
- Essay response must address one of the sponsor's listed questions.
- Application must be received, not merely postmarked, by the deadline.
