Outstanding domestic third- or fourth-year undergraduate students in the UBC Faculty of Forestry studying forest resources management may be nominated for this scholarship.
Scholarships totaling $2,000 are available annually from the Nielsen Family in honour of Brian Robert Nielsen. Candidates should have demonstrated an interest in sustainable forest management practices. The per-recipient amount varies by year.
Recipients are selected on faculty recommendation.
Brian Nielsen (B.S.F. 1993) received his Professional Forester designation in 1995 and built a career in forest management and manufacturing across British Columbia.
