Brent P. Poor Memorial Scholarship

Children of a widow or widower who has never remarried and who are enrolled or planning to enroll full time at a college or university in Louisiana or Texas may apply.

The Baton Rouge Area Foundation offers college tuition assistance through the Brent P. Poor Memorial Scholarship.

Submit a 500-word essay, transcript, FAFSA Student Aid Report, parent's death certificate, and academic resume between October 1 and January 31. Brent P. Poor's wife established the fund after his death in 2010 to help students who have lost a parent.
