About this scholarship
Georgia archivists in compensated or volunteer archival work, Society of Georgia Archivists members employed outside Georgia, Georgia graduate students in archives programs, or SGA student members studying out of state may apply. Preference goes to applicants without institutional support for workshop travel. Individuals may apply or be nominated by a supervisor or instructor.
The award covers registration for an SGA Spring or Summer Workshop and includes a $100 credit toward a Society of American Archivists class or bookstore purchase. Amount otherwise varies with the waived registration.
Submit the online application plus a cover letter and CV or resume to scholarships@soga.org. After the workshop, the recipient writes a brief article for the SGA Newsletter.
The scholarship honors Brenda S. Banks and has supported SGA workshop attendance since 2008.
