Bodie McDowell Scholarship

Undergraduate and graduate students pursuing careers in outdoor communications, including print, photography, film, art, poetry, or broadcasting, may apply for the Bodie McDowell Scholarship from the Outdoor Writers Association of America.

OWAA awards three or more scholarships annually, with individual awards ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. Academic achievement is considered but is not a primary selection factor.

Apply through OWAA's Submittable portal between January 1 and March 30. Candidates should present clear goals in outdoor communications, examples of work, and letters of recommendation. The scholarship is named for former OWAA President Bodie McDowell.
