Bill Millerd Award in Theatre

Students at UBC Vancouver completing the Theatre Internship Program at the Department of Theatre and Film are eligible for these awards. The program offers professional work-study opportunities through internship placements with local theatre companies. Recommendation is made by the Department of Theatre and Film, so no application is required. Awards totalling $11,750 were endowed by William E. Millerd, C.M. (BA 1965, LLD Hon 2009), with matching funds from the Faculty of Arts and support from the community. As Artistic Managing Director of Vancouver's Arts Club Theatre Company since 1972, Bill Millerd has helped launch the careers of generations of Canadian theatrical talent, including award-winning UBC alumni.
