About this scholarship

For domestic second- or third-year J.D. students at UBC's Peter A. Allard School of Law in good academic standing who have demonstrated community service, volunteerism, or leadership. Financial need may be considered.

Awards totalling $4,300 made available through an endowment established by the Huscroft Family Charitable Trust in honour of William Bill S. Maclagan, KC (LL.B. 1986). The awards are made on the recommendation of the Peter A. Allard School of Law.

After graduation, Bill clerked at the County Court and B.C. Supreme Court, then practiced at Russell & DuMoulin and Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, where he became Partner in 1994. He has served as Chair of the Canadian Tax Foundation, as a Bencher of The Law Society of British Columbia, and in numerous community and arts leadership roles.
