About this scholarship

Original Bering Straits Native Corporation shareholders and direct lineal descendants pursuing postsecondary education may apply through the MyCache portal. You must be an Alaska Native or descendant as defined by ANCSA, hold a high school diploma or GED, and maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA, with financial need after other aid.

Semester awards are up to $3,000 for full-time graduate students and up to $2,000 per semester for full-time undergraduates. The number of recipients varies.

Complete the CACHE application with transcripts and supporting documents by the semester deadline. The program supports educational and vocational activities for BSNC shareholders and their families.

  • Proof of academic enrollment (for vocational students): course cost, credits, training schedule, program overview
  • Verification of tribal enrollment / shareholder or descendant status in the Bering Strait region
  • Completed MyCACHE application pages 5-7 plus organization-specific pages
  • List of community/school activities, awards and honors, and interests/hobbies
  • Apply at least six weeks prior to first day of instruction; must maintain at least a 2.0 GPA
  • Full-time graduate awards are up to $3,000 per semester; full-time undergraduate awards are up to $2,000 per semester.
