About this scholarship

UBC School of Music students in vocal programs, including opera, choral, lieder, and solo singing, may be nominated. This includes but is not limited to early and new music.

Scholarships from this endowment total $5,350; the per-recipient amount varies. They were endowed in honour of UBC alumnus and world-famous Canadian tenor Ben Heppner (B.Mus. 1979).

Awards are made on the recommendation of the School of Music and, for graduate students, in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate Studies. There is no separate student application.
