About this scholarship

Doctoral students in accredited programs from any academic discipline whose dissertation addresses violence prevention or treatment may apply for the Belfer-Aptman Scholars Award through The Melissa Institute by April 1.

Three $2,500 awards support expenses directly related to dissertation research. Candidates must have an approved dissertation proposal before applying and submit the application electronically.

The Melissa Institute honors Melissa Aptman and funds research that advances violence prevention. Winners may be asked to provide a biography and short video about their proposal.
