About this scholarship
Students in the University of Toronto Pathways to Education Regent Park Program may be nominated for a Beland Honderich Award. Four scholarships of $5,000 are awarded annually: two for students entering from Grade 8 and two for students graduating from Grade 12. Nominees are identified by senior public schools serving the Regent Park and Cabbagetown areas, in consultation with the Cabbagetown Community Arts Centre and the Cabbagetown Youth Centre.
Awards are renewable for up to four years, conditional on satisfactory academic progress. Recipients must normally pursue an undergraduate program at the University of Toronto.
Candidates are nominated based on high academic potential and social or economic hardship; there is no direct student application.
