About this scholarship
Alberta Teachers' Association (ATA) members who hold an Alberta permanent professional teaching certificate may apply if they have completed at least five years (or 700 days equivalent) of successful K-12 teaching in Alberta at the highest possible ATA membership level, remain members in good standing at that level, and have not previously received this scholarship or the former John Mazurek-Morgex Insurance Scholarship. Applicants must be registered in or planning to register for a course (standalone or part of a certificate, diploma, or degree) at a recognized public university, college, or technical institute in Canada that focuses on business education and/or the use of computer technology in education, and must intend to continue contributing to K-12 public education in Alberta. Applicants may not also apply for the Nadene M. Thomas Graduate Research Bursary or the ATA Doctoral Fellowship in Education in the same year.
Belairdirect sponsors up to one scholarship of $2,500 each year. Funds are paid in a single payment once proof of registration is provided to the ATA.
Apply through the University of Lethbridge graduate awards portal by the posted deadline (typically February 28, 5 p.m. MST).
