About this scholarship

Connecticut high school seniors or adult learners who are dependents or spouses of active-duty or retired military personnel may apply for the BBB Military Line Student Ethics Scholarship by March 20.

One award of up to $2,500 goes toward an accredited college or university based on ethics, leadership, community service, integrity, academics, and a written essay. Applicants should be entering freshman or sophomore year of college.

The scholarship is sent directly to the college once the student matriculates.

  • Eligibility: Connecticut resident who is a current High School Senior, OR an adult learner who is a spouse of a current/retired military member; applicant must be a child or spouse of a current or ret
  • Copy of Military ID Card or DD214 of parent/spouse
  • Official high school transcript
  • Three letters of recommendation (e.g., church, school official, employer, community leader); each letter must be 300 words or less, single-spaced, on 8.5" x 11" paper
  • Essay must be single-spaced on 8.5" x 11" paper, submitted as a Word document
  • Completed entry form (leadership, community service, academic awards descriptions; post-secondary education plan; top three colleges; area of study)
  • Optional: Student Involvement Resume
  • Scoring: Leadership 20%, Community Service 20%, Academic 30%, Essay 30%
  • Award: $2,500, paid directly to the school; deadline March 14 (2024-2025 cycle ran Oct 14, 2024 - Mar 14, 2025)
  • Award is paid directly to the college after matriculation.
