About this scholarship
One graduating senior from a Catholic, private, homeschool, or public school in the Diocese of Venice who will be a first-generation college student may apply for the Barry L. Carey, M.D. Scholarship through the Catholic Community Foundation of Southwest Florida by March 1.
One renewable award provides up to $400 per year for up to four years with a 3.0 GPA. Funds may cover tuition, books, fees, and housing. Applicants submit an essay on their Catholic faith, parish affiliation verification, and documentation of college acceptance.
The scholarship honors the legacy of Dr. Barry Carey and his family.
