About this scholarship

University of Toronto undergraduate and graduate students who have made distinctive contributions to gender-based violence research and prevention may apply for the Award for Scholarly Achievement in the Area of Gender-Based Violence. Two awards are given each year, one undergraduate and one graduate.

Each award is $1,500. Applications are typically due in October; check the Women and Gender Studies Institute awards page for the current deadline.

The university established these awards in 2016 in connection with the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
