About this scholarship

U.S. citizens (native-born or naturalized) who are sophomores applying for junior year or juniors applying for senior year at an Astronaut Scholarship Foundation participating university may be nominated for the Astronaut Scholarship. Nominees must be full-time STEM students for both semesters of the award year, intend to pursue research or advance their field, and must not be aiming for professional medical practice (biomedical research is eligible). Faculty nomination is required; students cannot apply directly.

More than 70 scholarships of up to $15,000 are awarded. Programming includes an Innovators Symposium trip, mentorship, and alumni engagement.

Nominees provide two recommendation letters, a one-page personal statement, transcripts, and a CV or resume.
