Outstanding undergraduate students in the Faculty of Land and Food Systems at UBC Vancouver majoring in Sustainable Agriculture and Environment may be considered for these scholarships.
Scholarships totalling $4,250 are available from an endowment established by the estate of Dr. Margaret deMaine (1930-2022) in memory of the Honourable Arthur Laing (1904-1975). The Faculty of Land and Food Systems recommends recipients.
Arthur Laing (B.Sc. 1925) studied Agriculture at UBC before becoming a committed Canadian politician who advocated for civil rights and urban development as a cabinet minister and Member of Parliament.
