About this scholarship
Full-time Master's or doctoral students at York University may apply. Domestic and international students are eligible. Selection is based on academic excellence and research related to multiculturalism, human rights, cultural diversity, racism, or similar areas. Students must be registered full-time for the upcoming academic year.
One award of up to $8,000 is available. The value and number of awards in a given year depend on endowment distribution and the number of recipients selected. The award is non-renewable. It is comprised of matching funds and may affect a York Graduate Fellowship.
Apply through the Financial Aid, Awards and Scholarships (FAAS) system with a personal statement and research proposal showing how the work aligns with the award, plus an up-to-date transcript or grade report.
The award reflects Armand and Denise La Barge's contributions to fighting racism and promoting peaceful coexistence in a multicultural society.
