About this scholarship
Twelfth-grade students enrolled in a South Carolina public school who are U.S. citizens and have attended public school in South Carolina for the past two years may compete in creative writing, dance, music, theatre, or visual arts.
Five scholarships of approximately $2,000 each are awarded. Funds must be used at a South Carolina college or university. Each student may apply in only one arts discipline with an original composition from the current school year.
Submit entries to the South Carolina Department of Education by 5:00 p.m. on February 2. Named for South Carolina's first poet laureate, Archibald Rutledge.
