Anona Thorne (B.A. Math; M.Sc. Stats) is a UBC alumna who later worked with the CIHR Canadian HIV Trials Network at Saint Paul's Hospital in Vancouver. Takao Tanabe, her husband, is a well-known Canadian painter.
