About this scholarship
Outstanding students entering the first year of graduate school at a U.S. accredited institution who plan to pursue a degree in atmospheric or related oceanic and hydrologic sciences may apply for AMS Graduate Fellowships. Applicants need a minimum 3.0 GPA and must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
Approximately nine fellowship awards are available annually, with stipends ranging from $5,000 to $26,000 for a nine-month academic period depending on the sponsoring endowment.
Complete all application sections, upload official transcripts, and provide three written references by the January deadline. Fellowships include partial travel support and complimentary registration for the AMS Annual Meeting.
Prospective candidates from atmospheric sciences, chemistry, computer science, engineering, environmental science, hydrology, mathematics, oceanography, and physics are encouraged to apply.
