About this scholarship
Graduate students at U.S. institutions completing a dissertation on the history of atmospheric, oceanic, or hydrologic sciences may apply for the AMS Graduate Fellowship in the History of Science.
One fellowship carries a $20,000 stipend supporting one year of dissertation research. The award cannot be deferred.
Submit a research proposal, transcripts, vita, and three recommendations by the January deadline. AMS aims to foster close working relationships between historians and scientists and may arrange a mentoring relationship.
Recipients present their research at the AMS History Symposium the year after the award.
