About this scholarship
Registered active Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scouts may be nominated through their American Legion Department (state). Applicants must be a registered active member of a BSA unit chartered to an American Legion post, Auxiliary unit, or Sons of The American Legion squadron, or a registered active BSA member with a parent or grandparent who is a current American Legion, Auxiliary, or SAL member.
One Eagle Scout of the Year receives a $10,000 scholarship, and three runners-up receive $2,500 each.
Nomination packets must reach the state department by March 1 annually.
