About this scholarship

Graduate students registered at a university in the Grand River watershed who are conducting applied research in resource management may apply to the Grand River Conservation Foundation. Eligible fields include environmental science, engineering, emerging technologies, governance, and education.

One $4,000 scholarship is awarded. Applicants submit a narrative on their research and its applicability to the Grand River watershed. Preference goes to projects supporting a healthy, sustainable natural environment in the watershed.

The scholarship was created in 2012 in honour of Allan Holmes, who served as Chief Administrative Officer of the Grand River Conservation Authority from 1991 to 2000.
