About this scholarship

U.S. or Canadian citizens and permanent residents pursuing an MLS with a youth services specialization at an ALA-accredited program may apply. You must not have completed more than 12 semester hours toward the degree before June 1 of the award year.

The annual scholarship is $3,000.

Submit a complete ALA Scholarship Clearinghouse online application with a personal statement, three references, and official sealed transcripts by March 1.

The award honors past ALA president Mary V. Gaver, a Rutgers professor who advanced library youth services.
