About this scholarship
Architecture students from underrepresented backgrounds enrolled at the University of Illinois Chicago, Illinois Institute of Technology, or the School of the Art Institute of Chicago may apply for the AIA Chicago Foundation Diversity Scholarship. Graduate applicants must be entering the first year of a two- or three-year NAAB-accredited master's program or the second year of a three-year program, with proof of financial need and a commitment to fostering diversity in the profession.
Up to two recipients receive $5,000 per year for up to two years, plus an AIA Chicago mentor throughout the award period.
Submit a portfolio, a one-page resume, an up to 750-word diversity statement, two letters of recommendation, and financial documentation including FAFSA or tax records through the application portal.
The scholarship aims to attract and retain diverse young professionals in Chicago's architecture community.
