About this scholarship
African Nova Scotian students who have recently started or plan to pursue graduate studies at Dalhousie may apply. Eligible programs include master's or doctoral study in professional, course-based, or thesis-based formats.
The scholarship is valued at up to $15,000 per year and may be held for a maximum of two years of full-time study. Part-time students may hold the award at 50% value until the original eligible amount is reached. In-progress master's students may only hold it through the end of their second full-time year; eligible doctoral students can typically hold it for the full two-year duration.
Recipients are encouraged to connect with African Nova Scotian faculty mentors and peer mentorship programs. The goal is to reduce systemic barriers and increase representation of African Nova Scotians across Dalhousie's graduate programs.
