About this scholarship
Incoming UC Berkeley first-year students who completed high school in California, come from low-income and first-generation backgrounds, and demonstrate financial need may apply for the Achievement Award Program (TAAP).
Scholars receive renewable scholarship support (amounts vary by recipient) plus mandatory participation in retreats, workshops, alumni events, and one-on-one advising throughout their undergraduate career. Recipients must maintain a 2.0 GPA, complete check-ins and program events, and meet annual credit-completion requirements.
Apply through Awardspring after admission. The application includes supplemental questions and two essays on your community and career goals. Finalists are interviewed in July.
TAAP supports students from the moment they choose Berkeley through graduation, pairing financial assistance with a structured support community.
