About this scholarship
High school seniors at public or nonprofit high schools in metro Atlanta who plan to attend an accredited Georgia college or university may apply. You must be a U.S. citizen and demonstrate academic achievement and financial need.
One $5,000 award is disbursed in two $2,500 payments. You must maintain a 3.0 GPA to receive the second installment.
School counselors may nominate up to two students. Submit transcripts, SAT or ACT scores, a letter of recommendation, an acceptance letter, financial documents, and a 750-word essay, and participate in a committee interview. The foundation honors AALA founding member Gene Henson.
